I have a Fujitsu Stylistic Tablet PC and would like to use the tablet overlay.dwg. When I try to enable tablet it tells me Your pointing device cannot be used as a tablet. How can I get to use my tablet pc with the tablet overlay.dwg?

Thanks,

Did you install the Wintab driver required for most tablets?
Does your tablet come with any 'AutoCAD' drivers?

Is feldmm talking about a tablet.....or a tablet PC....which is something
different. His original post say's Tablet PC. so using the overlay for a
tablet would not work (i don't think)... Seems to me, that if you cover up
your display with a tablet overlay, it would be difficult to see whay you
are doing. Just like covering your monitor with the same piece of paper.

Can a tablet PC be connected to something else and used as a traditional
tablet???

Seems like an expensive pointing device to me...

LOL, I did read it as a tablet not a TabletPC. You are correct, that is an
expensive pointing device.

I am talking about a tablet pc. When using a tablet pc, you do not have a full functioning keyboard in the field when measuring, the tablet overlay sample gives you quick access to the most common functions. It is quicker to hit an icon on the screen then trying to type in with a stylus pointer.

It would seem you are trying to use your PC
(http://www.fujitsupc.com/www/products_pentablets.shtml?products/pentablets/
st4000a )
as a pointing device
(Loading Image...),
which makes no sense at all. That is what the tablet overlay is for in
AutoCAD, a pointing device.

What I am looking to do, is be able, whithout the keyboard, to select my most common commands, such as the numeric icons, Line, Chamfer, trim, etc... The overlay had these items, all I need is a customized menu that had these, and I thought the overlay, could be used as a customized menu

Most of those are found in toolbars somewhere, line, trim ,chamfer, etc,
however for nubers / numeric input, that's a little different story.

You could create your own toolbar, and drag icons / commands to it for your
own custom setup.

No, that is what the toolbar buttons and the pulldown menus are for.

TOOLBAR command and HELP can guide you through how to turn toolbars one and
populate your screen with then for your use.
