creating cross-sections

Is it possible to generate cross-sections in AutoCAD LT or do you have to buy another program to interface with ACAD?

Generate? You can for sure draw them, but generate?

Nope, as Dean says you can only draw them yourself. I believe you're thinking of the options available in MD or Inventor - in other words you can do it in 3D, but not in 2D. That's not an add-on, it's a whole new ball-game ;)
