Can one simply shut down the comm center?

I don't want any of that stuff.

Hit the help tab for the answer - yes, you can turn it off. The method is pasted below.

To Turn Communication Center On or Off
The CAD Manager Control utility turns Communication Center on and off. For example, if you want to prevent Communication Center from sending information to Autodesk, you can turn it off. Information about how to use the utility is available by installing and running the utility, and then clicking Help in the CAD Manager Control Utility window.

To install the utility, double-click setup.exe on the product CD. In the CD Browser, click the Network Deployment tab, and then click CAD Manager Control utility. A window with the CAD Manager Control utility files is displayed. Copy all of the files into a single directory on your computer. After you copy the files on your computer, the CAD Manager Control utility is accessible by double-clicking CMControl.exe.

I have loaded the CD, clicked on the 'setup.exe', clicked on the Network Deployment tab, but there is no 'CAD Manager Control Utility' available.

The only items available are -
Step 1
- Quick Start to Network Administration (.chm)
- Readme (.hlp)

Step 2
- Install

On the Right side of the screen there is also a -
'Stand-Alone Installation Guide (.pdf)

My installation is a 'single user' - NOT a Network Installation. Most of us are on a network, but well all use single installations of LT 2005.

What am I missing here?

You can just delete the file. And and won't mess with any other AutoCAD settings.

I would like the 'CAD Manager Control Utility' anyway.

Should it be on my disk?

Do I have an OLD disk?

It APPEARS that the 'CAD Manager Control Utility' is only available to the FULL AutoCad version. - Bummer!
