Hi,

I'm updating computers and would like to move AutoCAD LT2004 and all the dwg files to the new computer.

When I go to install - I get a message saying it is good for 30 days and I need to register and enter authorization number. I don't remember the authorization number. Do I just reregister? Shouldn't my information be on their files already?

Both computers are Windows XP

Thanks

Mmmmm, not sure, but since no one replied yet...

I think you'll have to call autodesk and have a new authorisation code generated for you.

But you can wait and see if someone confirm or infirm that affirmation :oP

Hello,

You can do one of two things:

1. Use the Portable License Utility on the original machine to export the license. On the Start menu (Windows), click All Programs (or Programs) Autodesk [Autodesk product name] Portable License Utility. Refer to the help in the utility to complete the process.

2. Install on the new PC, and re-register and activate - you do not need to call, but can do this quickly and easily online. NB. It is *very important* that you use exactly the same registration information you used to register the first time, or your activation will fail. To see the information you last registered with, you will have a file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2004\R??\Adlm\ACD2004ENURegInfo.html or similar and if you open that file, it will show you. (You might need to search for a file with the words "RegInfo" in it.)
