Discussion:
To always show List rather than Thumbnails for file names
(too old to reply)

I'm using AutoCAD 2004 LT.

When I go File=>Open of course I get the Select Files box.

It has always opened up with the Views set at List, which is
exactly how I want it to open and I have the Preview checked so I get
that for the List item that is selected.

Now instead of the Views open with the List of all the drawings,
the main field area opens up with ALL of the drawing showing a
thumbnails; including of course the Preview which last is fine.

When it does that I can of course click the List in the
drop-down of Views and get that or do the same for the Details in the
same drop-down but the Thumbnails of that drop-down is greyed-out.
So somehow I seem to have accidentally activated a condition in
which all the Views are thumbnails.
I cant find out how to correct this.
How do I make the List in the drop-down be the default condition
in the Select Files dialogue box when using File=>Open route?

Thanks,
Harry Sigerson.

At the top of the select files box, click on the 'Views' tab and select 'List'.
Should be OK then :<)

Derek,
Thank you for replying.
I sent of thank you about an hour ago. I must have banjaxed it in some way as it does not appear in the thread; though that may just be that I've not sent it off correctly.

I went to do what you said and discovered that it was back to the desired 'List' arrangement. Don't know why it didn't change when I tried doing just what you said the other day.

But it's fine now. Thanks again.

Regards, Harry.
