When i try to import an EXCEL sheet I can import all the cells i require however I also get a load of unwanted cells beneath the ones i want.

Can anyone tell me how to either specify the cells i wish to import or how to crop the OLE once inserted.

I have tried specifying the print area in Excel.

A Second method i have tried is to import into MS Word then from Word into cad. I have the opposite problem. I've specified the margins in word to show only the area i wish to import but when imported into CAD all the table is shown but only 3/4 of it has a white background and will be plotted.

A solution to either would be of great help..

Thanks in advance

I think the problem is down to limitations with older versions of Excel - you need at least version 2003.

Excel 2003 removes many problems. LT2006 and Excel2003 handle them better.

2 suggestions:

1st, if you need the exel sheet to be linked for future updates, work in paperspace, use viewports geometry to 'hide' the unwanted rows/columns, and / or Wipeout's. Any additionnal note / detail in Paperspace.

2nd, if the file dont need to be linked, import to paint, photoshop or else, modify until wished appeirance, insert in Cad....
