multi line text editor box - background brightness

Is there a setting or option that will allow me to turn off the "see through" effect of the floating text editor box?
Touching the top edge of the box seems to make the background opaque, and seems to turn off the see through effect, but when you are running the program it's a pain to have to touch the edge of the box first, then begin editing.

My real issue is the brightness of my screen. It's rather dim and even the difference between seeing through the text editor box or not makes a difference.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanx,
Willie!

this is no help to you. But I have a possibly related problem. The text in my mtext window is virtually invisible, while the text box is opaque eg I cant see the dwg through it.

The text is all their when you highlight it. Changing backgrounds text colour does not resolve the problem

Ithink this is a familiar problem to some . Any suggestions AutoCad?

Look in the full AutoCAD DGI for A/CAD 2005 under 'Invisible Text In Mtext Editor', posted by THolloway - it may help.
If it does, HTH

Windows display setting, not AutoCAD, remove WinXP's need to provide screen
font smoothing.

right-click either on Mtext task bar or body of text to find and turn it off
(not at a station to tell you exactly where).
